Edmonton Manufacturing Site

Bottling of soft drinks started at the Edmonton factory in 1975, yet the factory has undergone considerable change over the last 30 years. The site now employs approximately 200 people and is operational from between 134 to 168 hours per week.

A new automated high-rise warehouse at the rear of the Edmonton factory has now opened - providing an extensive loading bay and a storage unit with capacity to hold approximately 25,200 pallets of product.

The fully computerised system allows 12 cranes to move single pallets directly from the production lines into storage via a system of lifts and conveyors. The cranes feed pallets into 14 levels of storage, with pallets being discharged at the opposite end of the facility, via a second system of cranes, directly onto a shuttle car system which feeds pallets directly onto delivery vehicles. The system is designed to handle hundreds of pallets per hour.

Some 20,000 tonnes of concrete have been used in the construction of the three story high warehouse, ensuring solid foundations for the miles of storage that is being erected.
