Class visits - what we expect of you
Security
In order to meet the security conditions of the site, we need you to hand in a list of the names of each person in the group (including teachers) on your arrival at the Education Centre.
Health & Safety
Our priority is the safety of pupils and teachers.
Teachers must make the following Key Quality and Safety Standards & Behaviours clear to all members of the visiting group:
- Chewing gum and food are not allowed on site.
- Any stomach upset/ gastro-intestinal disorder in the 48 hours before your visit must be declared on arrival.
- Always hold the handrails on the staircases and take one step at a time. Walk; do not run whilst on site.
- All visitors should wear suitable, covered footwear (i.e. not heels, open shoes or sandals).
- Jewellery is restricted.
- Clothing - the factory tour route is on an elevated walkway overlooking the production hall. We advise women to wear suitable clothing e.g. trousers or a skirt of suitable length.
- Education Centre Managers will greet each group upon arrival at the centre and will collect the group from your coach. The teacher in charge will be required to sign a form to indicate that all members of the group have fully complied with these Key Quality & Safety Standards requirements. Visitors who do not comply will not be allowed to enter the Education Centre.
- Very occasionally, embarrassment and disappointment on the day of the visit is caused as a result of Key Quality & Safety Standards and Behaviours not being fully explained to a class group in advance of a visit.
- Please be aware that production programmes at all operational plants of CCE Ltd. are subject to variation, and as a result of this, it may be necessary on some occasions to alter at short notice the arrangements and dates of particular visits or visitors may not see full production.

- Please note that groups that cancel at short notice will not be re-booked.
-
Before Visiting the Centre
- We expect that all visiting students are studying the topic requested, so that they will understand the session content.
- Teachers should ensure that students come prepared with questions and specific learning objectives in order to get the most out of their time with us.
-
Pupil Behaviour
- The Education Centre is on a manufacturing site; disruption and misbehaviour are unacceptable and could be a dangerous to students and staff. Teachers should consider this, when selecting which pupils will visit the Centre.
- Teachers are responsible for behaviour and discipline of the class group. Please make sure that the visiting group does not disrupt our personnel working in the factory.
